Technical knowledge
- Deep familiarity with CAPEX project cycles, shutdown and turnaround planning, and asset integrity management.
- Proven record in P&L management, bidding and contract negotiation, and large-scale project execution.
- Knowledge of basic and advanced solutions for inspection, monitoring, and performance analytics.
Experience
15+ years professional work experience, preferably in the following areas:
- Design, Operations and Maintenance in the Oil & Gas, Power and Utilities, and Renewables sectors
- Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) services
- Business development activities
Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
Job Purpose:
The Area Industry Product Line Director leads the Industry & Energy TIC business within the assigned geography, with full accountability for strategy, growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across upstream, downstream, power, and renewable energy sectors. This role drives end-to-end business performance — from tendering and contract negotiation to project delivery and asset lifecycle management — ensuring operational excellence, safety, and compliance across all activities. The position requires deep understanding of CAPEX project execution, commissioning, shutdowns, turnarounds, and asset integrity programs within complex industrial environments. The Area Industry Product Line Director serves as the face of Bureau Veritas, representing its values of Trust, Responsibility, Ambition, and Ethics, and positioning the company as the preferred TIC partner for critical energy infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & P&L Management
- Define and execute the Industry & Energy business strategy across Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), Power, Utilities, and Renewables.
- Own full P&L responsibility, delivering revenue growth, profitability, and cash targets.
- Develop and manage annual sales, revenue, and profit budgets aligned with company goals.
- Identify and capture growth opportunities in major CAPEX projects, operating assets, and new energy transitions (hydrogen, CCUS, solar, wind, nuclear, etc.).
- Integrate digital inspection, condition monitoring, and asset performance technologies to strengthen service differentiation.
Business Development, Tendering & Contracting
- Lead opportunity identification, bid preparation, tender response, and contract finalization for complex industrial projects.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations to build winning proposals for EPCs, operators, and utilities.
- Negotiate commercial terms and manage key frame agreements and long-term service contracts.
- Maintain direct access to C-suite and senior stakeholders within client organizations and industry bodies.
- Develop partnerships and local alliances to expand market reach and achieve business growth.
Operational Excellence & Project Delivery
- Oversee safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of all testing, inspection, and certification services across:
- CAPEX project phases: engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up
- Operations phases: asset integrity management, shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance, reliability, and life extension programs
- Ensure compliance with international codes, client specifications, and local regulatory frameworks.
- Drive operational efficiency, standardization, and productivity across sites, labs, and field teams.
- Monitor delivery KPIs (on-time completion, utilization, safety performance, customer feedback) and act decisively on deviations.
- Champion a customer-centric delivery model recognized for quality and reliability.
People Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and motivate immediate and extended teams to achieve operational excellence and commercial success.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent; manage performance, succession planning, and individual development.
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and ethical behavior.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration between operations, sales, and support functions.
