About the role:
We are currently seeking an operations coordinator/ assistant manager at our site in Wingfield SA. The role will oversee and co-ordinate the performance of routine sample preparation and analysis according to standard laboratory procedures and international standards. In addition -you will assist the manager in ensuring financial, safety and quality targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities:
- Comply with the HSE policies and programs
- Report (immediately) all incidents, injuries, and accidents to the Manager and coordinate investigations as required.
- Identify and report (immediately) hazards to the relevant Supervisor, Business Unit Manager or Safety Representative.
- Report suspicion of any employee or visitor whom is under the influence of drugs or alcohol to the Manager.
- Assist the site to prevent and/or minimise environmental impact, through implementation of the guidelines documented in the Bureau Veritas “Environmental Management Plan”
- Ensuring visitors comply with HSE policies and programs
- Assist in reducing the number of hazards, accidents and incidents in your department.
- Perform SafetyWALKS, HSE Inspections, and other audits relating to health, safety and environment.
- Attend HSE training and toolbox talks
What’s needed?
To be successful in this role it would be desirable to possess the following experience:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Applied Science, Chemistry, Geology or Equivalent
- Laboratory and field-testing covering exploration, production and maintenance exposure
- Has experience in liquid hydrocarbon composition and physical tests to ASTM or equivalent standards
- Crude oil composition and quality (Crude Assay)
- Oil Condition Monitoring experience (lubricating oil analysis/diagnosis)
- Transformer oil knowledge testing
- Background in renewable fuels is also desirable
- Supervisory experience preferably in a laboratory environment as the person will be second in command to the Manager.
