PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Within the PHM/RE team, a technically advanced cell of engineering personnel exists to provide analytical and experimental stress analysis services relating to pressure vessels, machines, and structures. 

As the most senior person of this team, the Senior Integrity Engineer provides technical leadership and undertakes challenging projects.  Also, this role includes responsibility for the delivery of design verification services for pressure equipment, under the Bureau Veritas controlling procedures and any external accreditations that may be in force.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

 

Mandatory:

  • A minimum of ten years relevant industry experience.
  • A minimum of five years relevant experience with pressure equipment – design, Operation, failure, FFS and life.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Finite Element analysis methods and software packages.
  • Thorough working knowledge of statistical analysis methods, as applied to data reduction and analysis.
  • Thorough working knowledge of advanced defect tolerance and fitness for service assessment methods, as presented in API 579.
  • Good working knowledge of Australian and overseas standards for pressure equipment design and design of machines, cranes, structures.
  • Clear analytical thought processes to allow dissection and solution of complex engineering problems.

 

 

Desirable:

  • Membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
  • Practical working knowledge of strain and other data measurement processes and systems.
  • Combination of advanced technical skill and practical know-how that can be applied in the field.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS  

 

Mandatory:

  • Tertiary Education in a relevant engineering discipline, recognised by the Institute of Engineers, Australia.

 

Desirable:

  • Post graduate studies in a related technical discipline.

 

 

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES  

 

  • Technical thoroughness.

Ability to prepare clear technical reports
