The Opportunity


We’re currently seeking an experienced and highly capable Business Analyst to join our growing team in Canberra. This role requires strong proficiency in ICT, advanced technical writing skills, and a solid understanding of business processes within the Defence & Security sector. Must hold an active NV2 or PV security clearance (Positive Vetting). 



Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for ICT solutions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and user needs.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including business cases, functional specifications, process flows, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including solution architects, project managers, and developers to ensure accurate translation of requirements into solution design and delivery.
  • Identify and recommend business process improvements, supporting change initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement across systems and workflows.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining alignment with compliance, security, and quality standards in high-security environments.
  • Contribute to project planning and delivery, leveraging knowledge of ICT systems, business analysis methodologies, and stakeholder engagement to support successful outcomes.

 

About You:

 

  • Candidates must possess valid NV2 or PV security clearance, ensuring compliance with security protocols and safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Extensive background in ICT and business analysis, with strong expertise in data analytics, requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis.
  • Advanced technical writing skills and the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including developing complex reports, dashboards, and data models to support decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of Defence & Security sector operations, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications; experience in Defence and/or government environments is highly desirable.
