The role
The Contract Transition Manager (Marine Logistics Operation Coordination) is responsible for managing complex contract transition arrangements for the High Risk, High Value (HRHV) contracts, as services are phased in/out progressively for up to six (6) Contracts in the Marine Logistics and Aviation section over the next six (6) to twelve (12) months.
Responsibilities
- Lead transition planning activities between the ABF and Service Providers to ensure that progress can be accurately and fairly analysed and the parties aligned throughout the process.
- Work closely with the Contract Management Team to understand the changes that have been incorporated into the new arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with the department of Finance Contract Guidelines at Australian Government Contract Management Guide June 2023.
- Conduct post-transition evaluations to identify lessons learnt and areas of improvement in future transitions.
About You
- Possess or able to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Contract Transition – Record of managing successful complex transitioning HRHV arrangements.
- Project management – proficiency in organising, planning, overseeing projects, and ability to meet contract timelines and project deadlines.
- Adaptability – Flexibility to adjust to unforeseen challenges or changes.
- Communication - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to facilitate effective interactions between the Executive, Service Providers, and other stakeholders.
- Negotiation – strong negotiation skills to achieve good outcomes for the ABF.
- Stakeholder engagement – ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment – Expertise in identifying risks and implementing measures to mitigate their impacts.
- Tertiary qualifications in logistics, engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience working with Cape Class or similar maritime platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), inventory management, and lifecycle sustainment planning.
- Familiarity with the IMO ISM Code, AMSA regulations, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 55001).
- Advanced skills in data analysis, Inventory Management Systems, or predictive logistics tools.
- Understanding of sustainability principles and energy efficiency measures within maritime logistics operations.
