The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager – Software Licensing & ICT Commercial Management to support enterprise‑wide digital sourcing, procurement and contract management activities. In this role, you will lead the strategic management of software licensing, technology contracts and commercial frameworks to ensure compliance, cost optimisation, risk mitigation and value realisation. You will work closely with digital, procurement and vendor stakeholders to provide expert commercial advice, negotiate high‑value agreements and strengthen contractual governance across the organisation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic management of enterprise software licensing and lifecycle activities
  • Provide expert advice on licensing models, renewals, commercial structures and compliance
  • Manage and negotiate ICT contracts, including software, cloud and digital service agreements
  • Support digital sourcing and procurement processes to achieve value, efficiency and quality outcomes
  • Drive cost optimisation, value realisation and supplier performance across technology spend
  • Identify, assess and mitigate commercial, contractual and operational risks
  • Ensure strong contractual governance aligned with policies, regulations and best practice
  • Maintain accurate commercial documentation, reporting and contract records
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial, sourcing and contract management processes

 

About You

Strong experience in ICT commercial management, software licensing or digital procurement

  • Deep understanding of licensing models, software lifecycle management and vendor negotiations
  • Proven ability to manage complex ICT contracts and ensure compliance with commercial frameworks
  • Skilled in analysing commercial risks, identifying optimisation opportunities and delivering value
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and commercial teams
  • Experience in government or regulated environments (highly regarded)
  • Ability to interpret procurement policies, contractual requirements and commercial governance frameworks
  • Australian citizen with the ability to obtain — or already holding — a Baseline clearance (or higher)
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive and confident working independently in a fast‑paced digital environment
