Bureau Veritas’ Defence and Security business is designed to offer flexibility in service delivery, enabling operations from our offices, client locations, or remote settings as required. The role

The Senior Procurement and Project Officer supports complex HRHV procurement activities and provides general procurement expertise. This involves a strong understanding of current operational requirements, engagement with contract management and operational areas, and an ability to articulate these requirements. The position directs the implementation of the Civil Maritime procurement strategy.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead end‑to‑end procurements in compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, delivering value for money.
  • Develop and manage procurement and evaluation documentation, ensuring clear articulation of risks, probity and approvals.
  • Manage probity, confidentiality and conflict‑of‑interest processes, escalating integrity risks as required.
  • Negotiate contract terms, governance and performance arrangements with service providers.
  • Maintain robust procurement governance, record‑keeping and risk management frameworks.
  • Provide high‑quality, impartial advice on complex procurement matters and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, acting as an escalation point for complex procurements.
  • Undertake post‑procurement reporting and continuous improvement activities.

 

About You

  • Possess or able to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracting or equivalent on commencement.
  • Qualifications and/or experience in the following disciplines are also highly sought after in a Procurement Officer role: Risk mitigation, Audit, Commercial Law, Contract Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Financial Management.
