Overview:

 

Bureau Veritas Australia – Marine and Offshore division is seeking a Project Manager - Solution Architect (PM-SA) to contribute to the growth of our Seaworthiness and Regulatory Advisory business.

 

The role: 

 

The incumbent will be instrumental in delivering a comprehensive, aligned, and adaptable client frameworks that directly addresses the project objectives through predefined lines of operation & overarching line of effort. Adopting a strategic and solution-focused approach, the PM-SA will provide holistic interface management, ensuring seamless integration and coordination between the various components and stakeholders involved in the project. By developing a flexible and adaptable system architecture, the PM-SA will equip the client with the confidence that the new regulatory framework will be successfully developed, implemented, and continuously improved to meet the desired project endstate. Drawing on their extensive experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, the PM-SA will play a crucial role in anticipating and mitigating risks, while fostering effective collaboration and alignment across the project to deliver a cohesive and successful regulatory solution.

 

In addition to their project responsibilities, the PM-SA will hold a strategic role in progressing seaworthiness, regulatory matters, and other opportunities across the Bureau Veritas' Marine & Offshore (BV M&O) division. By leveraging their deep understanding of the maritime and seaworthiness regulatory landscape and their expertise in developing adaptable frameworks, the PM-SA will identify and pursue strategic initiatives that can further enhance BV M&O's capabilities and offerings across the maritime domain. This broader strategic contribution will ensure that the skillsets and unique attributes of the PM-SA are effectively applied and scaled across the organisation, driving continuous improvement and innovation in the marine and offshore industry.

 

Locations: 

 

This role will be located at our any of our capital city offices, preference for Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra or Perth. Remote work arrangements within Australia will also be considered for the right candidate.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive, aligned, and adaptable seaworthiness policy and regulations that directly addresses the project objectives.
  • Provide holistic interface management, ensuring seamless integration and coordination between the various components and stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Develop a flexible and adaptable regulatory architecture to ensure the successful development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the new seaworthiness policy and regulations.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks, while fostering effective collaboration and alignment across the project to deliver a cohesive and successful regulatory solution.
  • Identify and pursue strategic initiatives that can further enhance BV M&O's capabilities and offerings across the maritime domain, leveraging their deep understanding of the regulatory landscape and expertise in developing adaptable frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering and regulatory solutions.
  • Review engineering and operational documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders and provide engineering and regulatory insights.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering and regulatory reports and documentation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting engineering and regulatory issues and recommending corrective actions to resolve them.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

 

  • Bachelor qualification in engineering, project management, commerce, or related discipline and relevant industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering and/or regulatory design, analysis, and project management.
  • Knowledge of Australian and International maritime conventions and laws, and the Defence regulatory environment/s.
  • Must hold on commencement an Australian Government Security clearance.
  • Considerable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
