The Opportunity  

We are seeking an experienced In‑Service Inspector and NDT Technician to support inspection and testing requirements for our clients in Mackay and/or Blackwater. In this role, you will perform pressure vessel inspections and a range of non‑destructive testing activities across multiple mine sites. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic, site‑based environment while working with major industry clients.

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Deliver high‑quality inspection services using Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Ultrasonic, Radiographic and other Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, ensuring reliable and accurate results
  • Conduct in‑service inspections of pressure equipment across mining, oil & gas and large‑scale industrial environments.
  • Work confidently and independently across client sites, applying sound judgement, problem‑solving skills and strict adherence to safety procedures.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, representing the business with a high standard of communication and customer service.
  • Prepare clear and timely inspection reports, ensuring all work meets company quality standards and relevant industry regulations.
  • Uphold all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements, participating in safety walks, toolbox sessions and hazard reporting as needed.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisation and attention to detail to support accurate data capture, reporting and compliance.

 

About You  

Ideally you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience conducting pressure equipment inspections in mining or oil & gas environments.
  • AINDT / PCN / ISO 9712 Level 2 certifications in MT and UT (Welds).
  • At least 2 years’ experience performing Non‑Destructive Testing on fixed or mobile plant within industrial settings.
  • Underground coal mining experience (highly regarded).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and onsite teams.
  • A commitment to maintaining high HSE standards and contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, skilled team.
  • A professional and self‑motivated approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
