Who you are?
We have a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Manager for our Central Weighing department at our Sorbonne Cresent facility in Canning Vale. You will be excited by the challenges of our business and the variety this role offers ensuring both short term and long term objectives are met.
The purpose of the Central Weighing Manager role is to ensure that a safe environment is provided for your team to produce quality sample results, meet high performance targets and report to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.
As a Manager, some of your tasks will be, but not limited to:
- Ensure a culture of safety and compliance by conducting regular safety audits, implementing corrective actions, and providing ongoing QHSE training to staff.
- Ensuring the Financial and Functional control of the department meets or exceeds the KPI’s and the business expectations, to maximise the operational profit.
- Lead a large team in setting and achieving performance goals, providing continuous coaching and mentoring, and facilitating career development opportunities through training programs and cross-departmental projects.
- Monitoring performance and development and performance manage employees where required.
- Maximise equipment efficiencies, ensuring equipment is regularly Maintained, Calibrated and Repaired in a timely manner.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, optimise resource allocation, and increase operational efficiency while maintaining a high standard of quality in sample processing.
- Work closely with other departments to optimise sample workflow, ensuring continuity of work through the other processes in all departments.
What you will bring to the role?
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Geo-analytical Laboratories
- A Formal Tertiary Qualification in Science such as a BSc is required.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills are required.
- Proficient computer software literacy
- Exposure to operating and maintaining Spectral equipment is highly regarded.
- Excellent organisational, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills
- Experience in Sample preparation and other laboratory analysis will be advantageous.
- Experience in Sample Analysis and Quality Control would be highly regarded.
- Good understanding of sample testing operations and maintenance is highly regarded.
What is the roster:
- Monday to Friday roster – day shift
