The Opportunity

Join our dynamic mineral processing team as a Metallurgy Technician, where you’ll play a vital role in extracting valuable minerals from raw ores through precision testing and analysis. This position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge laboratory equipment and contribute directly to the success of our mining operations. You’ll be part of a skilled technical team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ore processing and quality control. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct metallurgical tests and assays on ore samples to determine mineral composition, purity and extraction viability
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring calibration and accuracy of all testing procedures
  • Document test results, analyse data, and prepare technical reports for process optimization and quality assurance
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot processing issues and recommend improvements to extraction methods
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards throughout all laboratory operations

 

About you

  • You hold a qualification in Metallurgy, Mining Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline, with practical laboratory experience
  • You demonstrate strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex technical data accurately
  • You are proficient in operating laboratory equipment and instrumentation, with a solid understanding of metallurgical testing procedures and standards
  • You possess excellent communication skills and work effectively within a team environment, while also managing independent technical responsibilities
  • You are committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to problem solving and professional development
