The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Business Unit Manager for the Mackay Laboratory. As the Laboratory Business Unit Manager, the areas of focus of your role will be to manage the operations of the laboratory, driving a positive Health, Safety and Environment culture, managing quality processes and systems, business development and key account management, financial management and team management.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Experience and knowledge in the applications of Quality Systems
- Business management experience in a technical and service orientated environment
- Sound knowledge and experience in the application of commercial models, systems and processes
- The ability to effectively lead, coach, mentor and train staff
- Tertiary Degree qualifications in Science, Geology or Chemistry or Financial discipline are ideal
- Advanced business and operational planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage service and project delivery across functional groups
- Advanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- An understanding and commitment to QHSE requirements
- Coal laboratory experience would be beneficial but not essential
