The Opportunity   

 

We are seeking a Production Supervisor for our Mackay Laboratory and nearby Port. The Mackay laboratory provides sampling and testing services for our coal mining clients in relation to their coal production, shipping, and exploration initiatives.

This is a key leadership role, reporting to the Business Unit Manager and responsible for the day-to-day operations and planning. The focus of the role will be supervising teams performing preparation and testing of coal samples.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Your day to day will include but is not limited to:

  • Rostering staff and scheduling work to ensure client requirements are met in terms of timeliness and quality
  • Ensuring safety, quality and reporting requirements are fully satisfied
  • Creating a positive tea culture centred on training and teamwork
  • Supervision, coaching and training of a Preparation Team
  • Participating in ongoing process improvement programs

 

 

About You   

 

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:

  • Sample preparation or laboratory experience necessary
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • The drive to achieve productivity targets and expected client turnaround times
  • A QLD C Class manual drivers license and own transport

 

Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing is a requirement of working on site.

 

Must live locally in the Mackay region. NO FIFO.
