The role:
As the Financial Accountant you will report to the Senior Financial Accountant and work closely with the Corporate Finance Manager. You will be responsible for a range of Finance functions including but not limited to:
Cash Flow Management
- Prepare cash flow trend, projections and conduct cash flow analysis.
Preparation of all tax matters and compliance:
- Perform yearly FBT preparation and collection of required information
- Perform monthly BAS preparation and control checks
- Support income tax return preparation including CBC report, Transfer pricing, Withholding taxes
- Prepare bi-monthly NZ GST lodgments and control checks
- Prepare various other tax and compliance lodgments (eg. TPAR, Payments Reporting, Quarterly ABS Survey, etc)
Intercompany transactions:
- Assist in the intercompany recharges and reconciliation.
Other duties:
- Assist with the information to be provided to the external auditors
- Assist in preparing tax provisions and compliance reporting to HO (Magnitude)
- Assist with interim and year-end audits
- Assist with the maintenance of Financial System Oracle’s JD Edwards (eg. Approval routes changes, BU rename, etc)
Preferred candidate will have:
- Have a relevant Accounting Qualification.
- Completed or studying towards a CA or CPA qualification.
- At least 5 years relevant accounting experience
- Tax background preferable
- Self-starter attitude with a strong attention to detail, driven to meet tight deadlines, problem solving and establish priorities
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as take on new tasks with a high level of difficulty.
- The ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
