About the role

 As the Legal Counsel for the Pacific Area reporting to the General Counsel and Compliance Officer for the Pacific Area, you will provide critical legal support across a diverse range of matters, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for Bureau Veritas. This role is a 12 Month contract and offers exposure to contract negotiation, corporate governance, compliance, and strategic advisory work within a global organisation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate client contracts to align with Bureau Veritas principles and good contracting standards.
  • Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and supporting Boards and Company Secretaries.
  • Provide legal support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting.
  • Draft and amend local policies and contribute to group compliance projects.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor of Laws degree, with a minimum three years post-admission experience.
  • Strong contract review and negotiation skills, with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and build strong stakeholder relationships.
