The Opportunity 

 

We are looking for a Payroll Officer to assist the Payroll Manager and Payroll Officers in day-to-day payroll functions in our office in Melbourne.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Process high volume payroll accurately and on time across Australia and New Zealand (monthly, fortnightly and weekly)  
  • Process new hires, terminations, employment changes, allowances, deductions superannuation, novated leases 
  • Ability to perform and complete requirements for month-end reporting 
  • Respond and resolve payroll queries in a timely manner 
  • Process all types of leave calculation and complete leave audit on a monthly basis 
  • Able to monitor and manage reconciliations between payroll system and general ledger 
  • Ability to interpret EBA’s and Awards and operate in a fast –paced environment 
  • Liaise with various teams in the business on both informative and point of reference level 
  • Ad Hoc reporting as requested by BU managers and SSC 
  • Support internal and external  audit requirements 
  • Understanding of Australian payroll rules and legislation; New Zealand payroll legislation and execution advantageous 
  • Willing to participate in testing and implementation of new payroll and T&A system 

 

About You 

 

  • Degree in Accounting or HR
  • Established end to end experience in payroll processing in high volume environment 
  • Experience in using UKG payroll is essential and advance excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of processing accuracy
  • Excellent communications (verbal and written) and strong dedication to provide excellent service
  • Comfortable to work autonomously and within a team, prioritise multiple tasks and conflicting workloads
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly desirable if a candidate has experience in using Time & Attendance system highly regarded (Mitrefinch)
  • Experience in ESS/MSS
