About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Team Leader to oversee the Projects function across our Building Surveying, Accessibility, and Compliance Management service lines within McKenzie Group’s Operations Support team.

This role is critical to ensuring the efficient delivery of project outcomes nationally, while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and consistency. You will lead a capable team, optimise workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance.

As a key operational leader, you will build strong internal relationships, partner closely with State Leaders, and contribute to national alignment of practices. You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening data integrity, improving processes, and ensuring legislative and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the allocation, prioritisation, and tracking of project workloads to ensure timely delivery and optimal utilisation of team capacity
  • Lead, coach, and develop Senior Project Support Officers, fostering capability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  •  Maintain the accuracy and integrity of project data, systems, and documentation to support reliable reporting and decision-making.
  • Drive ongoing improvements to workflows, systems, and processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and organisational requirements across registrations, records, and documentation.
  • Apply quality assurance and compliance checks to identify risks, prevent errors, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Embed strong data governance practices to support accurate, timely reporting and audit readiness.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across teams to support collaboration and national consistency.
  • Partner with State Leaders and key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are accurate and deadlines are achieved.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, knowledge sharing, and alignment of operational practices.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of workflow systems, automation tools, and digital enhancements.
  • Ensure all activities align with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) Management System requirements.

  • Strong organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Experience working with systems, data governance, and reporting to support business decisions.
  • Confidence in identifying process improvements and implementing workflow enhancements or automation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted working relationships across teams.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
