The Opportunity

We are seeking a Tank & Piping Integrity Engineer to join our growing Industrials team, based in Murarrie, QLD.

This role supports the integrity assessment, inspection assurance, and engineering decision making associated with aboveground storage tanks and related piping systems. You will work closely with inspectors, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, delivering technically sound and defensible outcomes aligned with Australian and international standards.

This position is well suited to a Chartered Engineer with strong hands-on integrity experience who enjoys site-based work, client engagement, and providing technical leadership in safety-critical environments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform integrity assessments of aboveground storage tanks in accordance with API 653, API 650, API 620, AS 1692 and AS 1940 (steel tanks for flammable and combustible liquids)
  • Conduct fitness for service (FFS) assessments in line with API 579
  • Analyse inspection data including ultrasonic testing, MFL, settlement surveys, and corrosion mapping
  • Develop, review, and assess tank repair methodologies and remediation strategies
  • Provide engineering support for tank and piping integrity, including interface assessments
  • Support inspection planning, execution, and technical assurance activities
  • Prepare clear, defensible engineering reports and client recommendations
  • Engage directly with clients, inspectors, and internal project teams

 

 

About You

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) – mandatory
  • RPEQ – highly preferred
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in tank and/or piping integrity engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of API 653, AS 1692, and relevant integrity standards
  • Good understanding of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code and regulatory framework
  • Experience in repair methodology development and assessment
  • Exposure to piping integrity is highly desirable
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required
