About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our Perth, WA team. In this senior‑level role, you will take ownership of complex projects across sectors such as Defence, Healthcare, Commercial, Infrastructure, and large‑scale developments, providing trusted technical leadership and ensuring compliance excellence.
You will work autonomously while also mentoring junior surveyors, supporting business unit leaders, and strengthening client relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess and review complex project documentation to ensure compliance with the Building Act, Regulations, NCC/BCA, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Provide expert technical advice to clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, including the development and assessment of performance solutions.
- Lead certification processes and deliver authoritative guidance on regulatory compliance matters.
- Prepare and sign off detailed technical reports, determinations, and compliance advice.
- Liaise proactively with local authorities, councils, and regulatory bodies, representing the business at a senior level.
- Mentor and support Building Surveyors and Graduates, contributing to team capability and knowledge sharing.
- Manage project delivery, resourcing priorities, and financial performance to meet invoicing and utilisation targets.
- Support Business Unit management with workflow planning, technical escalation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively contribute to QHSE management systems, including quality control, auditing, and safety leadership.
About You
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Building Surveyor in Western Australia.
- Extensive experience in building surveying and certification, including complex and large‑scale projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline (locally or internationally recognised).
- Strong working knowledge of WA legislation, NCC/BCA, and performance‑based assessment pathways.
- Exceptional client communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience mentoring and guiding junior staff.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously.
- Commitment to CPD requirements in line with state and national accreditation bodies.
