The role:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our Product Certification business across Australia and New Zealand. This is a unique opportunity to expand our presence in key sectors, including Building, Construction, and PPE products, by achieving business targets and fostering strong client relationships.
In this role, you will be responsible for strategic business development, including identifying and acquiring new clients, converting sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing key accounts. You will play a pivotal role in sales planning, revenue growth, and profitability, as well as internal and external networking to enhance market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (including but not limited to)
- Achieving sales and budget targets through proactive business development strategies
- Developing and executing strategic sales plans to expand market reach
- Identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities to drive business growth
- Building and maintaining a strong referral network to generate new leads
- Representing the business at industry events, client meetings, and conferences
- Ensuring accurate sales reporting and CRM management (Salesforce) to track pipelines and business opportunities
- Collaborating with operational teams to strengthen the relationship between sales and service delivery
- Liaise with support functions and oversee all aspects of proposal submission (QHSE, Legal, Technical, Financial)
- Liaise with clients and in-house experts to refine our offering
- Liaise and support operations during early stages of new certification programs
- Facilitate opportunities to cross-sell BV’s broader services
- Ongoing engagement & liaison, as required, with clients and operations
What’s needed?
Ideally you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or proven experience in technical sales and business development
- Previous customer-facing experience
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability and track record of exceeding targets and expectations sales and winning new clients
- Ability to understand and communicate with clients on technical Standards and Certification
- Ability to act ethically, follow company rules, and promote Bureau Veritas services
- Strong organisation, problem-solving and communications skills (written and verbal), IT savvy with ability to use all key Microsoft systems and CRM’s
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail, ability to work alone or as part of a dynamic and diverse team
- Passion for staying abreast of new technologies and new value-add services
- Ability to travel to client sites, conferences, exhibitions as required
