Data Insights & Continuous Improvement Analyst

Defence Estate Works Program

About the Role
We are seeking a Data Insights & Continuous Improvement Analyst to play a meaningful role in supporting performance reporting, analytics and ongoing improvement initiatives across the Defence Estate Works Program.
This role sits at the intersection of data, delivery and decision‑making, helping the program continually adapt and mature as delivery requirements, digital capability and data complexity evolve. You will turn complex project and financial information into clear, trusted insights that inform leadership, strengthen governance, and enable smarter, more efficient outcomes across a nationally significant Defence program.
Working closely with the Digital Platform & Integration Manager, this role is ideal for someone who is motivated by impact, enjoys solving complex problems, and thrives in a dynamic environment where innovation, adaptability and continuous improvement are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and continually enhance Power BI dashboards and analytics that support program oversight
- Deliver portfolio‑level analysis across cost, schedule, risk and delivery performance
- Provide high‑quality, insight‑driven reporting to support executive and governance decision‑making
- Identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities to drive efficiency and performance improvement
- Monitor data quality and contribute to strong data governance and assurance practices
- Track continuous improvement initiatives and measure benefits realised over time
- Constructively challenge existing approaches to help deliver best‑in‑class insights and reporting capability
Skills & Experience
- Strong capability in Power BI and data visualisation
- Experience analysing operational, project or delivery data within complex environments
- Understanding of data models, analytics tools and reporting frameworks
- Ability to communicate insights clearly and confidently to non‑technical stakeholders
- Experience in project management, construction or engineering environments highly desirable
- Comfortable working with evolving, incomplete or changing data sets
- A curious, improvement‑focused mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo
Desirable
- Experience working within Defence or government environments
- Australian Defence Force service experience highly regarded
- Exposure to Procore, Certinia, Office 365
