The Opportunity

 

The On-Site IT Support Engineer is responsible for delivering comprehensive technical support services directly at specified Bureau Veritas sites. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, providing solutions for network and system problems and ensuring optimal performance of IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Respond promptly to on-site service requests and incidents, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment on-site.
  • Support users with technical queries.
  • Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wireless networks, ensuring connectivity and security.
  • Perform routine system checks, updates, and preventive maintenance.
  • Document all support activities, resolutions, and recommendations in service logs and reports.
  • Collaborate with remote support teams and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Assist in the deployment and upgrading of IT systems and software packages.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection regulations.
  • Maintain inventory of IT assets and manage replacements or repairs.
  • Train Bureau Veritas staff on Core Corporate Platforms. Lead workshops and feedback sessions to encourage engagement. Share knowledge to support ongoing learning.
  • Promote a positive attitude toward change.
  • Track adoption metrics and KPIs to assess training and change management effectiveness.
  • Report progress regularly to leadership and project teams.
  • Travel to various sites for on-site IT support requirements.

 

About You

 

  • Diploma/degree/certification in IT, or related field.
  • Min 3 years’ experience in IT support (preferably in on-site capacity).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Networking, and common office applications.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Valid driver’s license for travelling to sites
  • Customer-focused attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality service
