The Opportunity
Bureau Veritas’ Buildings & Infrastructure division is seeking a motivated and high‑performing Casual Paralegal to join our Sydney office. This two days per week role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven law student to gain hands‑on experience supporting our Legal team in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Working closely with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, you will assist with the day‑to‑day legal operations across a broad range of matters related to the Buildings & Infrastructure business. This position is ideal for a student looking to build practical legal skills while contributing to impactful work within a global, industry‑leading organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Counsel and Legal Counsel with the daily management of legal files and record requests, including retrieving records, redacting documents, and preparing response correspondence.
- Draft, review and amend a variety of legal documents such as consultancy agreements, confidentiality agreements, leases, MOUs, tender offers and other supporting documentation.
- Collect and analyse information relevant to ongoing matters and liaise with internal stakeholders and external clients as required.
- Support the Legal team with all aspects of file management and document preparation.
- Review various contracts and provide initial comments or advice.
- Perform general administrative and ad-hoc duties to support legal operations.
Eligibility & Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must:
- Be available to work 2 days per week including on Thursdays (essential).
- Hold a Distinction average or above.
- Be commencing their 3rd year of study (in 2026).
- Be able to work one day per week in the office, with a second day flexible, including the option to work from home.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and an interest in commercial and contractual matters.
