We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our growing Sydney planning team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of strategic and statutory planning projects, supporting high‑profile land development initiatives for both government and private sector clients.
This position is well suited to a planner with 7–10 years’ experience, ideally from a private sector consultancy background, who is looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative, high‑performing team. You will play a key role in delivering planning advice, managing approvals processes and contributing to broader strategic outcomes that balance growth, resilience and liveability.
The Role
As a Senior Planner, you will:
- Deliver high‑quality statutory and strategic planning advice across a range of complex projects
- Manage and prepare development applications, planning proposals and supporting documentation
- Contribute to strategic planning projects, including policy reviews, master planning and feasibility assessments
- Work closely with project managers, clients and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
- Coordinate and manage specialist consultants and review their technical outputs
- Support and mentor junior planners within the team
- Manage strong client relationships
About You
You will bring:
- A relevant Planning qualification (or equivalent)
- 7–10 years’ experience in urban or town planning, ideally with some experience in the private sector in NSW
- Strong experience in statutory planning, with demonstrated exposure to strategic planning
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills, with a high attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver clear, practical planning advice
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients, consultants and authorities
- A collaborative mindset, with initiative, drive and a desire to continue developing your career
- Experience managing / co-ordinating consultant teams and contributing to multidisciplinary projects
