The opportunity

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Buildings team in Sydney, leading the delivery of a diverse portfolio of residential and education projects. This role will have a strong immediate focus on residential developments, with growing opportunities across school infrastructure as our pipeline continues to expand. These projects are integral to supporting community growth, urban renewal, and high‑quality learning environments across the region.

 

As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide end‑to‑end leadership, managing every stage from early scoping and planning through design coordination, procurement, delivery, and final handover. You will operate with a high level of autonomy, acting as a trusted representative in client offices and collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, consultants, and delivery partners to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Lead and manage the end‑to‑end delivery of residential and school projects, ensuring programs, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Oversee design management, coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and ensuring alignment with project requirements and approvals.
  • Manage contract administration processes, including tendering, contractor engagement, variations, progress claims, and compliance management.
  • Drive construction delivery, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain momentum and project integrity.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, senior leadership, and project partners, providing clear communication and accurate reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to business development activities and bid submissions (experience beneficial but not essential).
    Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.

 

 

About You  

 

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects within residential, education, or broader property and social infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong background in design management and construction phase delivery, with the ability to operate independently and with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in consultancy or client‑side environments preferred, with the capability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Exposure to school infrastructure projects is highly valued; residential delivery experience is essential.
  • Student living project exposure is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trust.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, bringing confidence and structure to project management processes.
  • Degree‑qualified in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Willingness to work in client‑side or secondment-style roles as required.
