The role:
We have a unique opportunity for a Chemist looking to change your focus. Working with other experienced Chemists and Managers in our laboratory, you will gain great industry exposure, performing routine laboratory analysis along with the electronic reporting of results. Working in a fast turnaround laboratory there is a focus on analytical testing of gas/liquid/solid samples involving chemical and instrumental techniques and troubleshooting.
A knowledge and interest in Gas Chromatography, water analysis and ASTM procedures for diesel fuels will also be highly desirable as it will give you a great appreciation for the application and importance of the work you undertake.
This role is based in Wingfield SA and will require you to live in this location.
As a Chemist, some of your tasks will be, but not limited to:
- A couple of years experience working as a Chemist
- Experience working with a range of water/glycol/diesel fuel samples involving chemical and instrumental techniques following APHA and ASTM procedures is beneficial
- Adhere to manual handling procedures.
- Logistics management (equipment and samples)
- Comply with the Safety and Quality policies and programs
- Data entry and Record keeping
What’s needed?
Ideally you will have previous experience and the following skillsets:
- Completion of Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry
- Knowledge of Laboratory methods associated with the Oil & Petroleum industry including Gas Chromatography.
- Knowledge of NATA and ISO quality systems would be highly regarded.
- Safety conscious
- Experience in a Laboratory applying chemistry and technical knowledge and use of scientific instrumentation
- Good communication skills
