The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our sample preparation team at Wingfield, Adelaide. This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for the overall performance of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production objectives are consistently achieved in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Reporting to the Labratory Manager, you will provide operational direction, drive performance across your team, and ensure operational priorities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives. You will play a key role in leading the team, workforce planning, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

As the Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage operational teams to deliver production, safety, quality, and turnaround targets.
  • Provide strong leadership across shifts, ensuring workflow, resourcing, and priorities are effectively managed.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, fostering a strong safety‑first culture.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management to build capable, engaged teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, capability, and operational performance.

 

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and operations within a fast‑paced operational or production environment.
  • Proven ability to lead leaders, manage performance, and balance operational and people priorities.
  • Strong safety leadership capability with a solid understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
  • A collaborative yet decisive leadership style with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills to meet business and operational objectives.

 

Roster

  • Monday to Friday - 8 hour shifts
  • Some weekends and overtime may be required
