As we continue to develop Marine & Offshore activities, we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join our organisation as Marine Health, Safety, Security & Environment Executive for Marine & Offshore operations. Position is located within our Chittagong office in Bangladesh and you will be welcomed in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Purpose of Position:
The person is responsible for the implementation of effective HSE and Security Management systems and processes to reduce work related accidents in Bureau Veritas as well as reducing our footprint on the environment. They work with the Management Team to assist them in improving their operations, activities and performance related to HSE and Security. They will also perform job planner's role where they will have to assist in managing NS/System jobs among surveyors/auditors basis qualification, workload and availability.
Major Responsibilities:
Country Animation
- Coordinate country tasks (Management System, Audit & reports).
- Cascade Group information to country (newsletter, alerts, etc.).
Management System
- Identification of local high-risk activities and ensure that processes are in place to protect employees and mitigate the environmental impact.
- Mapping of local business processes and ensure they are understood and complied with.
- Track and report required HSE and Security KPIs to Regional HSE and Security Manager and local management (Tableau and monthly reports).
- Develop or update necessary local procedures to comply with applicable requirements.
- Lead or maintain the ISO 9001, 14001 and ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 certifications.
- Identify and disseminate best practices within the country.
Prevention
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis of non-conformance propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze Group Safety/Security Alerts, propose local action plan to management and report implementation to Group
- Check the deployment of the Client Satisfaction survey processes.
- Communicate local safety alerts to country employees and manager.
- Deploy Safety/security Campaigns in coordination with HR network.
- Ensure HSSE induction and training material are appropriate, include Group e-learning modules, and coordinate with HR for the annual training plan. If necessary, deliver training.
- Ensure with local management that PPEs are properly managed.
HSE Performance
- Conduct/participate in incidents & accidents investigation.
- Coordinate audit program and conduct internal audits with NEXUS.
- Track corrective & preventive action implementation.
- Coordinates/supports Management Reviews.
Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related engineering discipline (Marine Engineering preferred).
- 1-3 years of sailing experience / in the HSSE domain is a plus.
- Preferably demonstrated experience developing and implementing HSSE policies, procedures, and training programs.
Skills & Qualities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team, management, and regulatory authorities.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting to track HSSE performance metrics.
- Ability to lead and coordinate HSSE initiatives across multiple vessels or offshore assets.
- Thorough understanding of marine operations, equipment, and potential hazards.
- Proficient in the use of HSSE management software and data systems.
