--> Job Description

As part of Bureau Veritas’ Head Office Legal Department, you will be in charge of a wide range of legal topics with a primary focus on contracts. In this role, you will work with various stakeholders within the company (Business, Purchasing, Technical, Finance and Insurance teams), and liaise with Bureau Veritas’ legal network worldwide. You will report to the Head of Contracts & Corporate.

 

--> Your mission:

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts related to main business opportunities managed at Head Office level, both on client and supplier’ sides (Contracts, Master Contracts, NDA, MOU, etc.).
  • Supporting the Head Office Business and Purchasing teams and advising them on how to manage risks in their commercial relationships.
  • Supporting the Head Office Business teams in the launching of new services to advise them on how to manage the appropriate legal terms and conditions.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and improving contract templates developed by the Head Office Legal Department, including Bureau Veritas General Terms and Conditions.
  • Managing, in coordination with Finance and Legal teams, the reporting of the group corporate operations.
  • Advising and training other teams with the aim of developing a strong business partner relationship between Legal Department and Business teams.
  • Developing rules and guidelines related to legal affairs and risk management.

 

--> Preferred Experience :

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in contract law or international law within an international legal department or law firm (experience in common law would be appreciated).
  • You have a master’s degree in contract law, business law or international law, or any equivalent degree (ideally obtained in a common law country).
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to evolve in an international and challenging environment.
  • You can handle several tasks with pragmatism and reactivity.  
  • You have a strong team spirit. 
  • You are fluent in French and English and know how to negotiate and draft contracts in both languages.
