Category Manager Travel & other Indirects (H/F)

The position is part of the Group Purchasing Team that has a global scope. This position will support in category strategy development, program implementation, project management, spend analytics to identify new strategic category opportunities. He/she reports to the Global Purchasing Senior Manager. This position is directly responsible for the Travel & other Indirects strategies and execution. It is based in Paris, la Défense.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement indirect category strategy for assigned spend
  • Manage strategic sourcing initiatives, following a 7-step sourcing methodology. Prepare and execute bid packages utilizing RFIs, RFPs, set appropriate sourcing actions etc.
  • Find alternate and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, challenge requirements and specifications to create a competitive advantage
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with regional sourcing leads to understanding regional business needs, market insights, risks and opportunities
  • Work with headquarter stakeholders to improve purchasing adoption
  • Support savings tracking processes, measure contract compliance, and other key metrics to ensure targets are being met and value is being delivered to the business
  • Manage supplier relationships, tracking supplier performance, and communicating performance feedback to suppliers through appropriate scorecard
  • Perform Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) reviews with key strategic suppliers
  • Provide support to the Global Purchasing Senior Manager
  • Special projects as assigned


You must have:

  • 3-7 years of professional experience in Sourcing and Procurement with an understanding of best practices and world-class processes
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Travel Services procurement, knowledgeable in multi Travel categories (including travel agency management, short term car rental, lodge card, hotel directory, air flight)
  • Subject matter expertise in various indirect categories including professional services
  • Strong understanding of financial measurement; ability to identify and quantify legitimate areas of business benefit (cost savings, avoidance, client satisfaction, quality improvement, etc.)
  • Previous global experience working within a multi-national, multi-cultural environment
