As we continue to develop Marine & Offshore activities, join our organization as Plan Approval Surveyor specialised in Systems for our Local Plan Approval Office located in Nantes – Saint Herblain (44), France.

 

Role & main responsibilities

Our French Plan Office (FPO) is responsible for verifying the compliance of ship designs to current regulations.

 

Within a team of 25 people, and in coordination with the local teams in our global network, the job incumbent's responsibility is to conduct plan reviews for all types of ships under construction in France or abroad, in accordance to applicable regulations (Class or statutory regulations).

These design reviews include, but are not limited to:

- Propulsion systems and associated circuits

- Piping, bilge systems

- Equipment installed on board (pressure equipment, steering gear)

- Ship electrical architecture (energy sources, switchboards)

- Ship automation, alarms and safety

 

The job incumbent will be required to carry out technical studies in these fields of expertise and assist the operational network for ships in service throughout their life (modifications, transformations, etc.).

 

The role implies a responsibility in managing all components related to the successful completion of reviews :

- Technical and contractual monitoring

- Ensure quality of review and timeliness

 

As the shipbuilding industry is at a technological crossroads, many more environmentally friendly projects are emerging: veloc propulsion, hydrogen, electric… Bureau Veritas must accompany this transition - you will have the opportunity to take part in these changes.

 

 Requirements

 

As a graduate in naval engineering, or a former sailor from the Merchant Navy or the French Navy, you have knowledge in propulsion systems, electrical engineering, energy engineering and/ or mechanical engineering. Your previous experience has allowed you to develop a high degree of autonomy and strong technical skills.

You are proficient in computer tools and demonstrate good writing and interpersonal skills. Attentive to the needs of both internal and external clients, you enjoy working in a team and can adapt to various situations encountered.

Your proficiency in English allows you to communicate effectively with our network and clients, both orally and in writing.
