Health & Safety Manager (m/f/d)

About the role

As Health & Safety Manager, you will be the key point of contact for all health and safety matters relating to our data centre construction projects. You will ensure that statutory and internal HSE requirements are fully implemented, coordinate the HSE activities of all project stakeholders, and act as the on-site HSE ambassador.

Your responsibilities

• Risk management: Identifying and managing high-risk hazards throughout all project phases, liaising closely with design teams and contractors.
• Change management: Assessing the HSE implications of changes during the construction process.
• Communication & training: Actively participating in meetings, workshops, daily briefings and management reviews.
• Audit & Compliance: Conducting independent HSE audits; assessing compliance with KPIs, HRA audits, training programmes, RAMS, lifting plans, etc.
• Independent review and management of HSE management processes; cross-evaluation; continuous improvement
• Resource assessment: Ongoing assessment of the safety resources provided by the contractor.
• Accident analysis: Analysis of accidents, incidents and near-miss reports; implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
• Motivation & recognition: Promotion of safety initiatives, participation in structured awards programmes.
• Reporting: Reporting to the client and their representatives; close cooperation with the main contractor.

YOUR SKILLS:

• At least 10 years experience in a senior safety role, ideally in the construction industry.
• Deep knowledge of construction HSE management procedures, RAMS, lifting plans, HRA auditing, and compliance frameworks
• Formal qualification in health and safety management (e.g. Occupational Safety Specialist or equivalent).
• Strong communication and reporting skills with ability to influence positive safety behavior and drive continuous improvement
• Extensive experience in communicating with contractors, design teams and other project stakeholders.
• Fluent in German and English (strong verbal and written communication)
