Ø Purpose of Position
- The purpose of the position is to provide strategic leadership for Bureau Veritas’s human capital in South Asia Area, ensuring that the people strategy aligns with and supports the overall business objectives.
- The role entails overseeing all HR functions—from talent acquisition and employee development to compensation, culture, change management and compliance with labour laws—to cultivate a productive, inclusive, and high-performing workforce, aligned to BV Values.
- The position serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, shaping culture, aligning workforce strategies with business goals, and enabling long-term organizational success.
Ø Major Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies, designed as per the unique needs of each business line under CIF South Asia Area, aligned with the overall business objectives.
- Act as a key member of the SAR leadership team, providing HR insights and strategic advice on organizational design, talent management, and workforce planning, across multiple industries.
- Lead the HR team in SAR, ensuring effective implementation of global HR policies while accommodating the specific requirements of local operations.
- Partner with the executive leadership team to support business transformation, growth, and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on human capital agenda.
- Strategize, envision and drive initiatives around talent acquisition, skill development, performance and retention.
- Design and oversee comprehensive end-to-end talent acquisition strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent for diverse business lines, from technical specialists to experts in the TIC industry.
- Design and implement tailored talent development programs, including specialized training, leadership development, and career progression opportunities to meet the distinct needs of various businesses.
- Create succession plan for crucial and key roles. Co-create & refresh segmented career programs.
- Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that the workforce reflects the diverse client industries served by the Company.
- Build and maintain a high-performance work culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and employee well-being.
- Implement employee engagement programs and act on feedback from surveys and performance reviews.
- Culture Integration & Change Management
- Champion the company's values and culture, promoting cross-cultural understanding and collaboration across diverse business lines.
- Lead culture and change management initiatives across South Asia, facilitating smooth transitions and ensuring stakeholder buy-in during organizational changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs, tailored to the diverse needs of employees across different business lines.
- Oversee the annual salary review process, performance appraisal systems, and industry-specific incentive programs.
- Develop and manage Total Rewards strategy; conduct regular market benchmarking of compensation practices & other benefits
- HR Operations and Analytics
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, HRIS, and employee data management, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilize HR analytics to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for optimizing HR strategies, considering the unique requirements of each industry sector.
- Develop and deploy strong analytics framework for faster decision making on people matters.
- Employee Relations and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local country labour laws and employment regulations, keeping abreast of changes and advising the business on legal requirements across diverse industries.
- Manage HR legal and ethical standards, complex employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency and fairness across all business units.
- Functional Excellence
- Drive functional excellence & specific projects: as & when required by the Group and at SAR level.
- Build and manage a high-performing HR team across multiple locations.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration between HR, other support functions, and business units.
- Uphold and adapt company policies to suit the varied business lines, ensuring relevance and applicability.
- The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy
Ø Roles & Responsibilities for HSE
- Responsible for compliances of all applicable statutory laws and regulations as well as Group HSE policies and procedures etc. in relation to Health safety and environment and workmen employment.
- Responsible for establishing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the HSE Management System (in line with ISO14001:2015 & OSHAS18001:2007 standards) within his/her Region/Location/Team
- Responsible to take reasonable care on health and safety on their own and of others.
- Responsible to report promptly on any abnormalities and incidents found related to Health Safety and Environment

Ø Qualification and Experience
- Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- Min. 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 10 years in a senior HR leadership role in India. Past experience with an MNC, serving diverse industries.
- In-depth knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices across multiple sectors.
- Proven experience in strategic HR planning, talent management, and employee relations within multi-business line environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across diverse business units.
- Experience in professional services industry is preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with experience in managing diverse, cross-cultural teams and working in matrix.
