Ø Purpose of Position
- The position calls for overall development of BV services as Inspecting Authority for client asset.
- Will lead the corrosion related services and RBI projects
- Provides support in preparation of proposal & estimate to Sales team and help to control spend on site activities.
- Identifies improvements to work practices and actively contributes towards continuous improvements.
- Ensure that the deliverables to client are submitted in time frame.
- The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy
Ø Major Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) program as per API 580/581.
- Capable to individual handle & execute projects related to Risk Base Inspection project.
- Ensure all static equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, tanks, relief devices) are covered in the RBI system.
- Coordinate RBI assessments across plants, business units, and maintenance functions.
- Manage the RBI schedule and ensure timely completion of assessments and updates.
- Shall perform comprehensive RBI according to project contract and project scope of work.
- Perform equipment criticality ranking using both qualitative and quantitative RBI methods.
- Identify credible damage mechanisms using API RP 571 and plant-specific degradation data.
- Develop optimized inspection strategies (NDE methods, intervals, coverage, access requirements) based on RBI outputs.
- Recommend inspection techniques such as UT, PAUT, TOFD, MFL, RT, AE, IRIS, etc.
- Optimize turnaround scope and reduce unnecessary inspections while keeping risk ALARP.
- Review inspection reports and update RBI models with actual inspection findings.
- Will be responsible for all corrosion related studies eg. Corrosion management, Corrosion risk assessment studies, RBI, Failure Analysis, MSR etc
- Participate in the risk based assessment process, and provide corrosion expertise and effectively interact with multi-disciplinary Risk Based Assessment (RBA) or other process groups.
- Knowledge of codes & standards like API 510, API 570, API 571, API 580, API 581, API 653 OISD, Offshore standards & other codes API, ASME, ASTM, ANSI related to the field of RBI, corrosion and inspection - candidates holding 2 API certification can apply.
- Strong knowledge of Asset optimization, Maintenance & Reliability practices as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Risk Based Inspection (RBI), Corrosion Management and willingness to learn and grow.
- Provide corrosion expertise to and effectively interact with multi-disciplinary team or other process groups as per the project requirements.
- Undertaking ECDA, ICDA & SCCDA studies and generation of reports. Working knowledge of internal and external corrosion mechanisms common to the oil and gas industry and the corresponding corrosion management options (CP, chemical treatment, coatings, remediation or repairs etc.)
- To review and understand scope of work of vendor’s packages/sub-contractor’s works and specifications thereof and check materials & corrosion related requirements based on MSDs and other relevant documents during Enquiry phase and raise all relevant issues for clarifications/resolution, as needed.
- Understanding of corrosion modelling, testing and prediction to facilitate or validate materials selection. Perform / assist engineers in corrosion rate calculation.
- Determines materials compatibility with respect to temperature, pressure and oil field environments to determine suitability from a corrosion standpoint
- Liaising with clients, subcons, sme’s to develop discrete work scopes and build professional working relationship.
- Perform / assist the team in performing the required Fitness for service analysis of equipment and piping.
- Effective communication skills required to deliver the reports, presentations (written, oral and computer)
- Perform Fitness for Service in line with API 579-1/ASM FFS-1, RLA in case of requirement for integrity assurance and reliable service of equipment without affecting safety of the asset.
Ø Experience:
- 10-15 Years of experience in Upstream O&G, Downstream Refining & Petrochemicals, Power Generation Utilities, Chemical Plants.
- Hands on experience in Onstream inspection, Turnaround inspection, Risk based Inspection, Direct Assessment, Risk Assessment, Inspection Planning.
- Experience in handling tools such as Meridium, Bentley, other integrity softwares
- Capable to review data related to CP related data
