Senior Design Review Engineer

• Purpose of Position
• To provide expert services to Bureau Veritas clients in the field of Design Review activities and provide specialist technical services to clients globally.
• Undertake the execution of various Design Review activities and other technical services for a variety of projects and provide direct support as directed by the Manager (Design Review) / BV Management.
• The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy

• Major Responsibilities

• To independently perform/ execute assigned Design Review services and provide technical support to the team as required.
• To support the Manager (Design Review)/ BV Management with various business support activities and administrative work assigned.
• To undertake multi-disciplinary projects as assigned by the Manager Design Review)/ BV Management to meet the strategic goals of the department/ organization,
• To provide support in preparation of proposal & estimate to Sales team and have realistic approach towards estimate.
• To identify improvements to work practices and actively contributes towards continuous improvements.
• To review design review plans and deliverables, critically evaluating methodologies, assumptions, results, and conclusions to ensure technical accuracy and compliance to the applicable codes and standards.
• To coordinate closely with clients during study execution and review vendor and sub-contractor scopes of work, specifications, and deliverables.

• • To monitor project progress and ensure adherence to schedules and deadlines through effective planning and follow-up.
  • To prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports and presentations, demonstrating strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
  • To train and mentor junior engineers as per Business requirements..
  • To participate in meetings/workshops and support the decision-making processes with sound technical justification.
  • Fulfil the administrative duties as per BV HR policy and as directed by the Manager (Design Review)/BV Management.
  • Ensure compliance to the Company’s Quality System requirements.

  • Roles & Responsibilities for HSE
  • Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.                                                                                       
  • To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
  • To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.    
  • Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
  Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects.

• Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

• Time taken to perform the review & deliver reports to the client
• Quality of Work and Quality of reports
• Deliver to client as per contract and client expectations.
• Client relationship – Retention and Growth.
• Training team members in various competencies as communicated by the Manager.
• Compliance of internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures.
• Meet the Internal and external customer service satisfaction scores (e.g. number of complaints)

• Qualification and Experience  

• BE/ B. Tech in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in designing (or appraisal of) various static equipment’s and/or performed piping design (or appraisal) Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience working in the Design Experience with reputed EPC organizations, Design firms or TIC organizations in preferred. Multi disciplinary (fire & safety or electrical) experience would be an added advantage.
• Exposure to:
• Design of various types of Pressure vessels, Heat Exchanges, Boilers to ASME, PD, IS, API standards
• Engineering review and verification activities (to ASME, ANSI, API, EN 13458 standards)
• Onshore piping system design/ review (to ASME, ANSI, API standards)
• Ability to review calculations, identify design issues and propose practical engineering solutions.
• Demonstrate strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Fluent is spoken and written English.
