Purpose of Position
- The job incumbent is responsible for ensuring Safety for all employees and handling all Health Safety Security & Environment (HSSE) management systems and processes to reduce work related accidents and illnesses of Bureau Veritas employees as well as reducing footprint on the environment.
- The scope of activity shall be CIF division within South Asia Region (SAR Region - India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) of BV.
- The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead and animate the HSSE network in the CIF division, SAR;
- Promote continuous improvement in all aspects of HSSE across the Region
- Responsible for advising management on strategic issues related to HSSE and support to management to improve HSSE
- Identify and disseminate best practices on HSSE within the CIF division;
- Introduction of incident risk identification and management tools & techniques;
- Advise the CIF division senior management team for compliance to respective HSSE regulatory requirements;
- Responsible for producing HSSE budget to management; track and report HSSE KPIs to Corporate/Division/Zone HSSE Management.
- Build a resilient, agile team, able to navigate complexity and create a culture of simplicity, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective HSSE management within the Region through Country/Regional HSSE representatives.
o Cascade Group HSSE and APA OG requirements (Statement, policies, procedures, newsletters, alerts, feedback etc)
o Ensure effective HSSE management within the Region through Country/Regional HSSE representatives.
o Monitor, support, and advise the Country/Regional HSSE representatives in all HSSE aspects and ensure efficient work.
o In coordination with Country/Regional HSSE representatives ensure efficient safety accident investigations for related the perimeter
- Communicate local safety/health/security alerts to the Country/Regional HSSE representatives and ensure cascading to local teams.
- Deploy Safety/Security campaigns through the Country/Regional HSSE representatives.
- CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility):
o provide to the APA CSR Ambassador periodical HSSE KPI updates and reports for the Region.
o Team up & provide support to achieve the Regional CSR KPIs
o Participate in regional CSR initiatives in line with CSR mission & priorities for the OG (shaping a better environment, shaping a workplace, and shaping better business)
- Be directly responsible for team performance and ensure all people policies, procedures and initiatives are effectively implemented in area of responsibility.
- Implement corporate standards in the area of responsibility (e.g. Code of Ethics, BV Values, corporate identity, policies & procedures as applicable). Disseminate corporate and regional communications as appropriate within the team.
- Support in maintaining compliance with internal and local statutory, industrial & legal requirements and BV group guidelines, including safety, Ethics, Technical, Quality and Risk management.
- Work closely with the Leadership and Regional Teams to drive a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment to deliver strategic initiatives, while fostering an environment where people are accountable for safety and wellbeing.

- Employee Engagement score (BVocal), Voluntary Attrition & Diversity & Inclusion scores.
- Accreditation compliance & compliance of internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures
Qualification and Experience
- Professional Qualifications with focus on safety and related subjects with more than 15 years of experience
- Degree in Engineering preferred with additional specialized courses/trainings in the field of HSSE
- Strong domain knowledge in the HSSE segment with at least 5 years of direct experience of managing HSSE
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines
