1. Purpose of Position
- Builds and leads a knowledge hub of multi-disciplinary technical experts delivering a gamut of technical services in the Design Review (DR) team across market segments and BV product lines.
- Responsible for all operations of the Design Review team including Business development support, commercial & operational excellence, skill development, product & services innovation, to help secure market leadership for BV TC portfolio.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Operations
Develop and execute Technical centre’s strategic vision for the Design Review team.
- Drive achievement of annual budgets and resource utilization metrics for Design Review team set out by the IND product lines.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 (testing / calibration), ISO 17020 (inspection), and ISO 17065 (certification) standards where applicable.
- Establish performance metrics, KPI’s and continuous improvement programs, oversee capacity planning and resource utilization.

- Technical Service Delivery for Design Review (DR) team
Ensure daily management of the Design Review team activities to deliver services in accordance with the defined Contractual scope in a timely & efficient manner.
- Support with Technical Centre related activities as and when required by the Management/ Manager.
- Lead and drive Strategic Growth initiatives for the Design Review team through close engagement with Large Clients, Key Accounts, Market Leaders and M&S Team.
- Coordinate with other internal stakeholders in HQ & Zones to support all Pre-Order & Post- Order activities for DR scope.
- Lead the development & delivery of SOPs, workflows aligned with market needs, international standards and client requirements.
- Implement quality management systems and technical procedures
- Perform design review related work when needed to meet client deadlines and emergencies.
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, coach technical & administrative staff.
- Establish competency frameworks and training programs for DR Team related activities.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, learning, knowledge sharing and compliance within DR Team.
- Comply to the administrative duties assigned by the Manager and as per BV HR policies.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Support Business development for DR scope through customer engagements
- Build & nurture relationships with internal / external clients.
- Lead efforts to support winning large / strategic deals, key accounts growth, business development and tender proposals
- Address technical queries and resolve service issues
- Represent Design Review/ Technical Centre at industry forums and conferences
- Actively gather client feedback and drive service improvements
- Compliance & Accreditation for TC
Maintain & expand accreditations where applicable in coordination with PLs
- Prepare for and coordinate accreditation audits
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across all sectors
- Implement corrective actions and manage non-conformities
- Stay current with evolving standards and regulatory changes that impact DR team operations

- Innovation & Technical Excellence
Identify opportunities for development of new products to DR portfolio in coordination with management.
- Lead technical research and capability development
- Benchmark against industry best practices
- Mentor technical staff on complex technical challenges
- Stay well informed on industry changes & trends, competitor analysis & participate in external events directly involved with our prime markets.
- Lead Specific Projects as and when required by SOA Management
3. Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)
- Sales – Design review Opportunity Pipeline, Sales Conversion & Hit Ratio
- Revenue: Design Review Organic growth & profitability targets as per Business Plan
- Quality: NC rates, client satisfaction scores, accreditation audit results
- Operational Efficiency: SLAs achievement rates, resource utilization.
- Team: Staff retention, training completion rates, competency assessments
- Innovation: New service launches, capability expansion, market share growth
- Compliance: Accreditation maintenance, zero critical NCs, regulatory adherence

4. Professional Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical/ Industrial/ O&G/ Metallurgy disciplines; master’s degree preferred.
5. Experience
- 15+ yrs of experience in the technical services domain relevant to TIC business segments in Oil and Gas, Power, Process industry, Infrastructure /Construction.
- Hands-on working experience in the design of static equipment and/or piping & machinery systems for O&G, Process and Industrial projects is highly desired.
6.Technical Competencies
- Demonstrated track record in leading and managing a design review team of 5+ engineers for a duration of 5 years + as a minimum.
- Strong technical understanding of international standards & codes (ASME/ IBR/ EN/ API/ IS/ IEC) industry standards & best practices relevant to BV’s DR portfolio.
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact effectively from base operators to senior management.
