We are actively seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior / Principal Naval Architect to join our Engineering Department.

Joining our Engineering Assurance and Consulting team, this role will provide naval architectural and engineering consultancy services to our clients, both as a consultant on an ad-hoc basis or as part of a project specific role.  You will carry out engineering analysis, undertake analysis reviews and prepare technical documents, while acting as technical expert internally and supporting and mentoring other engineers within the team.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable and extensive experience in naval architecture within the offshore industry. A consultative approach to technical challenges and an ability to share knowledge and mentor other engineers is also essential to ensure that we continue to meet the high standards of customer service to our clients. Hydrodynamic analysis and project management skills are essential.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Engineering analysis, calculations, design, assessment and review;

 

  • Attending client sites onshore and offshore to conduct survey / inspection work to produce reports or augment desktop analysis;

 

  • Preparation of technical documents for issue to clients and suitable for submission to relevant authorities;

 

  • Manage large consultancy projects;

 

  • Effective and timely production of project workscope requirements;

 

  • Assisting in the preparation of bids and tenders where required;

 

  • Supporting and mentoring other members of the team to develop internal competency levels and provide technical support.

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • Degree qualified Naval Architect with demonstrable experience delivering engineering consultancy services;

 

  • Chartered Engineer preferred;

 

  • Experience in offshore construction projects an advantage;

 

  • Experience with pile gripper design preferred;

 

  • Structural analysis experience would be beneficial, specifically knowledge of industry structural code calculations;

 

  • Seafastening experience, including review of SF designs;

 

  • Experienced Project Manager;

 

  • Mooring analysis experience is preferable;

 

  • Residency in the North East Italy (Trieste / Venice).
