JOB PURPOSE:

The East Africa Finance Lead is responsible to manage the Bureau Veritas East Africa Finance Departments, its staff, systems, procedures and processes. S/He should Lead the Finance Control function for all the East Africa legal entities, ensuring full compliance with Group and local statutory reporting requirements. The East Africa Finance Manager serves as the face of Bureau Veritas, representing its values of Trust, Responsibility, Ambition, and Ethics, and positioning the company as the preferred TIC partner.

 

. Minimum Requirements                                                                                                                                         

EDUCATION

 

1.1. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline (master’s preferred).
  • CPA (K) /ACCA qualification

1.2. Technical

knowledge

  • Advanced financial modeling
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
  • Understanding of:

IFRS/GAAP accounting standards Financial risk management Corporate financial strategies

1.3. Experience

  • At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years in senior finance executive roles
  • Proven track record in strategic financial management
  • Experience in complex, multinational financial environments

1.4. Skills

  • High integrity with a commitment to safety, ethics, and quality.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary teams across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on operational capability.
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in English (and local language if applicable).

1.5. Primary

Functions

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide leadership and management oversight to the Finance in East Africa Area
  • Manage the Regional financial reporting, financial analysis, cash flow and profit and loss reporting, as well as the yearly budget for the Area.
  • Drive cost efficiencies throughout the Region, particularly in Finance and IT and with the assistance of Operational Excellence.
  • Built a strong finance team in East  Africa
  • Support  ESA Finance Manager during the forecast and Budget processes as well as in investments decisions
  • Ensure alignment of the Group’s financial and financial reporting

requirements.

  • Make sure all processes and procedures are in place and are strictly respected.
  • In charge of local Statutory figures as well as focal point with the auditors
  • Ensure compliance with international and local statutory and legal requirements and Group guidelines, including Ethics and Risk management.
