Job Description
The office-based Drilling Operations Superintendent is responsible for leading the drilling
operations team to deliver the drilling program objectives safely and comply with related
industry, regulatory and company guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
a) Direct, organize and manage the overall implementation of COMPANY offshore drilling
activities in accordance with approved programs, procedures and practices and with the
specific objective of achieving optimum operating cost, safeguarding the safety of personnel
and property and protection of the environment.
b) To provide technical input and feedback on well design and planning.
c) Review drilling and completion program
d) Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot major operational problems, such as blowout, rig
on fire or serious accident that may occur during the operations.
e) Manage the drilling activities safely by implementing and enforcing good oil field drilling
practices and other statutory requirements as required by law.
f) Identify unsafe practices, procedures and advise innovative solutions to remedy the
problems.
g) Plan and control rig activities such as timely scheduling of equipment, materials, and
services to avoid costly delays by continuous forecasting rig forward activities and
requirements.
h) Enhance operations efficiency by constantly evaluating and analyzing the practices,
procedures and problems and recommending changes for improvement.
i) To be involved in post drilling performance analysis activities to enable capturing of lesson
learnt.
Qualifications and Skills:
a) Minimum 10 years related experience in offshore drilling operations supervision
b) Have certificate, diploma or degree in related technical field
c) Have completed IWCF or IADC (supervisor level) well control training
d) Good English communication skills
