JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Outlining the Radiation Protection Program, Security Plan (if applicable) and the Emergency Plan in accordance with the activities carried out by the employer.
• Classify and label the work area in accordance with the Rules of the AELB (Basic Safety Radiation Protection) Regulation 2010 [P.U. (A) 46]. 
• Arrange medical surveillance program for employees working in the control area.
• Identify and analyze the radiological hazards in the work area and the environment.
• Set the production program and monitor the return of personal equipment, maintenance of records of exposures recorded to monitor practically acceptable and ensure that exposure is as low as possible can be achieved by each employee.
• Ensure the recognition and appointment of employees such as operators and coach operators approved and instructed the employee their duties.
• Establish procedures for dealing with any exceptional circumstances or unusual exposure that may arise.
• Training and retraining plan that is appropriate for all workers dealing with ionizing radiation.
• Checking, storing and updating the following documents:
  - Record of medical examinations for radiation workers [LPTA / BM / 5 (Section A)]
  - Employee exposure records of radiation [LPTA / BM / 5 (Section B)]
  - Equipment maintenance records radiation
  - Records sealed source leak tests
  - Calibration records radiation detectors
  - Record levels of external radiation exposure in a storage or a fixed exposure
  - Statement of radiation equipment (LPTA / BM / 3)
  - Statements on radiation equipment (LPTA / BM / 2)
  - Records disposal of radiation equipment
  - Record recruitment, dismissal or transfer of radiation workers
  - Records import / export
  - Records of radiation incidents and accidents
  - Record transfer
  - Records of training / courses
  - Record inspection visit by AELB
  - Records resignation radiation worker
  - Record movement / transport of radioactive materials
  - Record testing Securities Plan
  - Record Test Emergency Plan
  - Accounting of radioactive materials
  - Inventories in / out radioactive materials from / to storage
  - Other records required by AELB from time to time
• Ensure that any change in the location of the radiation equipment to be carried out prior to permission from AELB.
• Supervise the following works:
  - Maintenance work carried out on radiation equipment
  - Control and rescue operations in emergencies
  - The transportation of radioactive materials
  - Developing a security plan for facilities containing radiation sources Control Category 2
  - Test the effectiveness of the security plan; and
  - Test the effectiveness of the Emergency Plan.
• Assess the reliability of the worker before permission is given control of radioactive sources.
• Ensure the security of radioactive sources and facilities licensees constantly monitored from time to time to avoid any risk of loss, sabotage or theft.
• Comply with security measures established by the licensee.
• Report any incident contingency situations that threaten the security element within 24 hours from the time of the relevant event.
• Implement and fully test security plan approved by the AELB and reports documenting their implementation.
• Implement and fully test Emergency Plan approved by AELB and records the implementation; and
• Stop the operation of radiation equipment operating if there was any breach of the Act 304 made by employees or licensee.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified with Radiation Protection Certificates (Level 2 / Level 3).
• Possess a diploma in an Engineering field.
• Experience in the Non-Destructive Testing Inspection field, specifically Industrial Radiography.
• Proficiency in written and spoken of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possess a valid driving license.
• Intermediate level computer skills.
