Responsibilities
- Manage a team of environmental engineers/auditors
- Manage the development and implementation of environmental inventory programs, environmental impact services and de-carbonization programs for our clients including strategies, work processes and procedures
- Develop and implement compliance plans/programs for our clients to ensure compliance with the local environmental regulations including new or revised regulations, permit requirements, internal policies and standards
- Manage audit programs and other regulatory compliance assurance activities
- Manage and implement procedures for data gathering to support high-quality emission calculations/measurements used for reporting and compliance evaluations.
- Evaluate, manage, and interpret data, make recommendations, and prepare written and verbal reports as needed
- As the section head, contribute to expand the company’s services annually. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships to generate repeat business
- Develop and implement strategic business/action plans and provide leadership, to grow opportunities in Achieving Net Zero services across Bureau Veritas’ organizations
- Participate fully in marketing efforts in establishing new accounts, servicing existing accounts, and procuring new business opportunities
- Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand Bureau Veritas’ profile and market share in the regional market
- Provide environmental advisory services
- Collaborate with other Bureau Veritas’ global practitioners to execute ANZ services for our clients
- Develop a working understanding of the company’s other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling other services to existing clients
- Develop and maintain resource information related to products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc
- Schedule, coordinate, and monitor field logistics for ANZ or environmental programs e.g. sample collection at facility emissions points
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in civil or environmental engineering, geology, environmental science or equivalent
- Minimum 15 years’ of work experience with; 5+ years’ experience in managing direct reports, 5+ years’ relevant experience in oil & gas, petro-chemical, refinery, terminal or manufacturing environment preferred, with a primary emphasis on air programs, 5+ years’ in the environmental industry or worked as an environmental consultant
- Relevant site investigation and risk assessment experience
- Passionate in company’s vision & success
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization e.g. regulatory bodies, customers, contractors, etc
- Fluency (both written and oral) in English is essential
- Strong leadership qualities including planning and organizational skills. Able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy and able to meet work deadlines
- Self-starter and able to work independently without immediate instruction or direct and constant supervision, coordinate several activities simultaneously and independent in problem solving including able to handle high volume of information
- Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
- Ability to prepare and interpret reports, recognize problems, and define and evaluate solutions
- Knowledgeable on Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) would be an advantage
- Familiar with OGMP 2.0, ISO 14001, 14004, 14040, 14064(I), 14066, 19001
- Working knowledge of local environmental laws and regulations especially the Environmental Quality Act 1974
- Experienced in environmental compliance and due diligence
- Knowledgeable of the industry standards, best practices, and design methods including an updated understanding of the current and legislative issues pertaining to carbon footprint, Green House Gases (GHG), etc
- GHG emission calculation experience would be an added advantage
- Proven business development experience would be a plus point
