Responsibilities 

  • Manage a team of specialists/engineers of various functions and roles – Risk Based Inspections, Corrosion Management, Asset Integrity Management, etc.
  • Spearhead the team to meet the organization’s objective and aspirations
  • Provide overall supervision, guidance, coaching and support to your team members
  • Supervise and/or perform work to ensure the work and deliverables are performed/ issued as per company standards and guidelines and assure all team members adheres to the company’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirement, code of conduct and business policy
  • Fully understand clients’ standards, regulatory requirements and health & safety requirements are within required quality and budget and ensure your team members’ work and deliverables comply with the requirements
  • Set priorities and expectations for your team
  • Responsible for the growth and development of your team members
  • Provide overall technical direction of your team and technical support for field personnel
  • Ensures new program and process roll outs are effective and sustained
  • Assist Department Manager to supervise and co-ordinate job scheduling, manpower control and allocation within the section
  • Assist Department Manager in the development of existing and new business through regular client contacts.
  • Manage development and training of team members to required level of expertise.
  • Develop KPI reporting and performance metric development
  • Support the department in establishing and managing roles and responsibilities and staffing requirements
  • Support the department in managing budgets and ensure it’s aligned with the organization’s direction
  • Identify continuous improvement projects/exercises for the department
  • Interact and interface with other section leads for further streamlining and improvement of the department including development of business cases in collaboration with them
  • As the section head, contribute to expand the company’s services annually. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships to generate repeat business
  • Develop and implement strategic business/action plans and provide leadership, to grow opportunities in Asset Integrity management services across Bureau Veritas’ organizations
  • Participate fully in marketing efforts in establishing new accounts, servicing existing accounts, and procuring new business opportunities
  • Develop a working understanding of the company’s other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling other services to existing clients
  • Develop and maintain resource information related to products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Leadership

I. Asset Integrity management

  • Manage the development and implementation of Asset Integrity Management (AIM) programs Including strategies, work processes and procedures to ensure client’s operations remain compliant, safe, reliable, and cost effective
  • Manage the development of an Integrity Management System (IMS) database
  • Manage the collection and closing of any gaps in the work process pertaining to mechanical, process and inspection history data collection
  • Manage the development and implementation of client’s asset management system strategy. This includes the end to end of the asset life cycle i.e. asset installation, asset tagging, asset creation/structure, asset maintenance, asset data
  • Manage the development and implementation of a bad actor analysis program

II. Corrosion Management

  • Manage the development and implementation of a corrosion program
  • Manage and review data driven decisions to identify program improvement opportunities including mitigation plans for internal and external corrosion
  • Manage the development and/or improvements of client’s corrosion baseline data or corrosion database
  • Manage corrosion related Root Cause Analysis projects and corrosion control solutions recommendations
  • Manage Corrosion Review, Risk Review, and Inspection Planning Review sessions
  • Review proposals on internal and external corrosion programs

III. RBI & RCM

  • Manage the development and implementation of risk-based assessments (RBA), risk ranking, risk-based inspections (RBI), RAM study, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs and monitoring programs
  • Manage asset criticality assessments to identify which assets need to be reviewed for Risk Based Inspections
  • Good understanding of refinery and/or petrochemical processes to implement Risk Based Inspection Strategy
  • Review all deliverables to ensure RBI processes and principles are applied to client standards and best practices
  • Manage RBI Execution plans, schedule planning, client interfaces, pre-inspection meetings prior of job commencement.
  • Manage the development and implementation of client’s continuous improvement plans to optimize their physical assets and maintenance and reliability processes and strategies
  • Manage the development and implementation of client’s reliability metrics and KPI’s in support of their operational goals while improving safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Continuous understanding of current standard methodologies in the reliability and maintenance industry for further improvement of the department
  • Knowledgeable in material and corrosion
  • Knowledgeable in API 581
  • Knowledgeable in RBI software e.g. ANTEA, Plant Manager, Nexus IC, Synergy plant or equivalent

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience preferably with at least 10 years with the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical or Refinery industry. (Less number of years can be considered if you have the right skills) and 10 years of experience in managing or leading Asset Integrity activities
  • Employed by owner-operator Company as an Asset Integrity engineer or Maintenance engineer in a refinery or petro-chemical plant would be an advantage.
  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering field, plant operation, maintenance and inspection
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing direct reports and proven ability to lead multifunctional teams
  • 5+ year’s corrosion engineering experience
  • Passionate in company’s vision & success
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Fluency (both written and oral) in English is essential
  • Strong leadership qualities including planning and organizational skills. Able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy and able to meet work deadlines
  • Self-starter and able to work independently without immediate instruction or direct and constant supervision, coordinate several activities simultaneously and independent in problem solving including able to handle high volume of information
  • Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
  • Knowledgeable in NDE/NDT inspection skills would be an advantage
  • Well versed with API Certifications i.e. API 510, 570, 571, 653, 2611
  • Well versed with NACE Certifications
  • Strong understanding of RBI, RCM, RAM study, etc
  • Strong understanding of corrosion mechanism
