B&I Business unit seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our Building & Infrastructure Business Unit in Malaysia, with a primary focus on the manufacturing, data center, and semiconductor sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background combined with proven experience in business development, key account management, and commercial strategy. This role is responsible for driving growth by identifying and securing new opportunities, expanding strategic client relationships, and leading the development of comprehensive technical and commercial proposals tailored to both local and regional markets.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or Science. A postgraduate qualification in Business, Management, or related discipline is an advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction, engineering, or industrial sectors, with significant exposure to manufacturing, data center, or semiconductor projects in Malaysia.
• Experience with consultancy, inspection, testing, certification, or project management services will be highly regarded.
• Proven experience in business development, key account management, and preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project delivery processes, and the requirements of the manufacturing, data center, and semiconductor sectors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to engage confidently at management and C-suite levels.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships within the local and regional markets.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal preparation tools; familiarity with CRM systems is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of local regulations, standards, and guidelines related to building, infrastructure, manufacturing, and industrial facilities in Malaysia.
• Possess own vehicle and willing to travel within Malaysia and occasionally within the region for business purposes.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) is an added advantage, especially for engagement with certain manufacturing and semiconductor clients.
