Role Summary
The Inspector of Works (IOW) is responsible for carrying out day-to-day site inspections to ensure construction and installation works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and required quality standards. The IOW will report site findings, monitor workmanship, and support the Resident Engineer in site supervision activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine site inspections and monitor works for compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Check workmanship quality and ensure construction activities meet project standards.
- Verify materials, equipment, and installations at site before and during execution.
- Record inspection findings, site observations, and non-conformance issues.
- Assist in witnessing inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Report daily site progress and issues to the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinate with contractors’ site supervisors on corrective actions and site readiness for inspection.
- Maintain proper inspection records, checklists, and documentation.
- Ensure site works are carried out in accordance with safety and project requirements.
- Support the Resident Engineer during audits, client inspections, and technical reviews.
Requirements
- Must be registered with BEM.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Experience in data center projects is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of site inspection, QA/QC procedures, and construction practices.
- Able to work in Sedenak, Johor.
- Available immediately or within 1 month notice.
- Willing to work on a project basis
