Role Summary
The Resident Engineer (RE) will be responsible for supervising and monitoring site construction works for the assigned discipline to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedule. The RE will act as the key site representative for technical coordination, inspection oversight, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor construction/installation works on site for the assigned discipline.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant standards.
- Coordinate with client, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and authorities on technical and site matters.
- Review and monitor site progress, quality of workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
- Inspect materials delivered to site and verify compliance with project specifications.
- Witness testing, commissioning, and inspection activities relevant to the discipline.
- Identify non-conformance issues and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
- Prepare and submit site reports, progress updates, inspection records, and technical observations.
- Attend site meetings and provide technical input to resolve construction issues.
- Ensure proper documentation of site activities, including as-built information and inspection records.
- Supervise and guide Inspectors of Works (IOW) under the assigned discipline.
Requirements
- Must be registered with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Experience in data center projects is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction supervision, QA/QC, site coordination, and testing/commissioning processes.
- Must be able to converse in Mandarin (spoken communication required).
- Able to work in Sedenak, Johor.
- Available immediately or within 1 month notice.
- Willing to work on a project basis.
