ROLE PURPOSE 

  

To carry out and report analysis in accordance to the Laboratory capabilities, either individually or as part of a team, to pre-set targets and to support the parameters defined by the Laboratory Manager

  

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  

·         Past experience in an Oil & Petrochemical Laboratory is an asset but not an essential requirement.

  • No qualification is needed as in-house training will be provided.
  • Basic level of Mathematics and English is essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure within time limits by determining priorities and organizing work accordingly

 

 

RESPONSIBILITES 

  

·         To carry out analysis to a high degree of accuracy and quality in conformance with established methods, instruction and quality standards

  • To carry out analysis on a wide range of commodities or materials as specified in the Laboratories capability documents under own initiative, or as directed by the Laboratory Management in strict accordance with the relevant approved controlled procedures
  • To assist the Training/Quality Supervisor in the developing and training of new employees
  • To calculate, understand and verify results
  • To ensure that results conform to set Laboratory tolerances, and are available for issue in the agreed target times
  • To assist in the cleaning and tidying of the Laboratory, in order to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
  • To perform any other duties as reasonably requested by your Superiors  

 

Working Hours

  • Shift based, may include weekends and public holidays

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • It is essential that liaison and co-operation within the BV is cultivated and maintained. This will lead to a greater understanding of the Group activities within the region resulting in an improved profitability whilst increasing the ability to develop and exploit the markets. It is essential that strong lines of communication are maintained in order to fully benefit from the BV. Although the current BV strategy is to operate as a separate commodity;  co–operation must be given to other Commodities when required.
  • Health and Safety compliance is essential in all times. The primary objective is the wellbeing of all people and in order to achieve this regulations and legislation must be adhered to, and in some cases, surpassed. As a result, it is of utmost importance that all employees comply with all the company safety and housekeeping policies and report any unsafe conditions.
  • It is of utmost importance that every BV employee complies with the latest version of the Code of Ethics by applying the values, principles and rules. Each and every one of us is responsible to comply with our business processes in order to enhance the reputation of BV as a social responsible company.
