Role Purpose

  

Bureau Veritas Malta Oil and Petrochemicals (also known locally as Inspectorate Malta Ltd), is currently recruiting inspectors to work in the Oil & Petrochemical Industry on a full-time basis. The individual must be flexible, enthusiastic and committed to work in a challenging environment with the will to learn a variety of operations.  

  

Requirements 

 

  • Preference will be given to applicants with seafaring experience in the merchant marine industry and/or previous experience as a petroleum inspector.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets/Microsoft Excel and an adequate overall level of computer literacy.
  • Satisfactory knowledge of Mathematics and Physics.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging conditions.
  • Possession of a valid and clean driving license.
  • Full compliance with Health and Safety standards at all times.
  • The successful candidate must follow all company safety and housekeeping policies and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Flexibility to work irregular days and hours.
  • The candidate must be able to adapt to non‑fixed schedules, which may include weekends, nights, and full offshore days.

  

  

Responsibilties

  

  • Conduct measurement and sampling of petroleum products (e.g., diesel, gasoline) stored in the cargo tanks of ocean‑going tankers.
  • Supervise the transfer of oil from vessel to vessel or from vessel to shore terminals.
  • Oversee loss control procedures and supervise bulk oil cargo transfer operations.
  • Prepare detailed reports for all tasks performed.
