Position Details

  • Job Title: Quality Leader 
  • Location / Department: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Jeddah (South Jeddah) – Minerals Laboratory
  • Reporting to: Laboratory Manager

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Chemistry / Science / Geochem
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degre
  • Experience: 10 years of relevant experience

 

Technical Knowledge:

  • Regulatory Analysis / ISO Standards Application / Instrumentation / Laboratory Techniques

 

Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities (Primary Functions)

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the laboratory’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO/IEC 17025 and applicable standards.
  • Lead and oversee quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure laboratory data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
  • Ensure consistent application of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality protocols across all laboratory activities.
  • Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the laboratory.
  • Ensure all relevant and required documentation is up to date and correctly filed / stored

 

 Laboratory Systems & LIMS

  • Drive continuous improvement and effective utilization of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to ensure data reliability and traceability.
  • Ensure proper data entry, validation, and control within LIMS in line with QA/QC requirements.
  • Support system enhancements and standardization across laboratory operations.

 

Quality Performance Monitoring

  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely closure of non-conformances and preventive actions and monitoring effectiveness of implemented actions
  • Monitor laboratory quality performance through monitoring QC data (CRMs, BLKs, replicates) as well as PT/RR data and identify trends, deviations, and potential risks.
  • Analyze quality data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of quality issues impacting result accuracy or turnaround time.

 

 Technical Oversight & Data Validation

  • Oversee testing and analytical activities to ensure adherence to approved methods and quality standards.
  • Ensure appropriate validation and review of analytical data before release.
  • Support troubleshooting of technical issues affecting data quality and reliability.

 

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management

  • Proactively identify risks in laboratory processes and implement preventive and corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities in laboratory processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Promote best practices and lessons learned across all laboratory sections.

 

 Stakeholder Collaboration & Guidance

  • Provide technical guidance and QA/QC support to laboratory supervisors and staff.
  • Act as a key point of contact for quality-related matters between laboratory operations and management.
  • Communicate quality expectations and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison with accreditation bodies, regulatory agencies and key clients on quality matters

 

Operational Support & Delivery

  • Ensure laboratory operations meet production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Support the release of test results and batches in accordance with QA requirements.
  • Balance operational efficiency with strict adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify training personnel needs and ensure improved technical competency through hands-on training of laboratory personnel

 

  QHSSE Responsibilities

  • Implementing BV safety programs within the team
  • Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV HSE
  • Policies, procedures and practices.
  • Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/HSE Representative
  • Report immediately to HSE Representative any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
  • Report immediately to HSE Representative any HSE incident and cooperate in investigating Reporting all incidents and taking action whenever they see an unsafe act or condition
  • Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
  • Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
