Job Purpose

The Regional Manager leads and supervises wildlife inspection operations within the assigned region. The role ensures effective planning, field supervision, regulatory compliance, stakeholder coordination, and achievement of operational performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Plan, assign, and supervise inspection activities to ensure adequate coverage of outlets and/or points of entry within the assigned region.
  • Oversee daily field operations, including inspection scheduling and manpower deployment.
  • Handle escalations, urgent inspection requests, scheduling changes, and operational challenges within the region.

Team Leadership

  • Coach, guide, and monitor Inspectors’ performance, attendance, and discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with approved inspection plans, applicable regulations, and established procedures.

Quality & Reporting

  • Review inspection and violation reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Prepare and provide operational reports, regional updates, incident reports, and performance information to management and clients as required.

Resource & Coordination Support

  • Support workforce readiness, mobilization, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate availability of equipment, offices, and vehicles required for inspection activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Comply with all HSE requirements and enforce safe working practices during travel, field inspections, and wildlife handling activities.
  • Ensure hazards, incidents, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions are reported and addressed promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Zoology, Biology, Veterinary Science, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in inspection operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing inspection teams.

Training

  • Leadership and team management in inspection or field-based operations.
  • Inspection planning and scheduling.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
  • Reporting and field supervision.

Technical Knowledge

  • Inspection operations and wildlife-related compliance requirements.
  • Documentation control and reporting.
  • Regional planning and manpower deployment.
  • Field performance management.

Performance Measures

  • Timely planning and supervision of inspection activities.
  • Accuracy and quality of inspection and violation reports.
  • Inspector productivity, attendance, and discipline management.
  • Timely resolution of escalations, incidents, and corrective actions.
